My name is Gerður Jónsdóttir or just Gerdur if that spelling scares you. I am an interaction designer (make apps/software easy to use) by profession but a bit of a closet housewife by nature.
I love sewing, order cooking and gardening but let it be noted that I hate cleaning. I am an opinionated mediumgeek, feminist and a bookworm. I enjoy being outdoors, jogging, and travelling. To sum it up I like to many things and don’t have enough time to do any of it. Just expect this to be one random mess that doesn’t get updated too often.
My passion is really in creating things and I work as a designer during the day making products easy to use and useful. I have worked on among other things making the user interface of Opera Mini, Opera TV Store, Canal Digital’s Go app on iPad/iPhone/Android. In a past life I coded web browsers (Opera Software).
Like every other parent on the planet I have the two most adorable kids you will find. My girl was born in 2010 and my little boy born in 2014. They have kept me awake since then so I am not always sure if I still count as a human or a zombie. I mostly sew for them but as they keep me quite busy (and aren’t great sleepers) there is very little time for other things than taking care of them and doing other less fun duties. This blog got created at some point to get me to be less conscientious. It was really a desperate attempt to push me to do things I actually enjoy and not just do what I am supposed to do.
I live in Norway with my little family but was born not far from some of the scariest volcanoes in Iceland.
